We love helping businesses share their stories and their company messages. This may come in the form of an explainer video, supporting you to develop your website, or designing logos, among many others. As we know, a picture paints a thousand words, and your company name and logo are usually the first impression a potential customer has of you.
In this blog, we thought we would share with you why we are called Gradino, and what it means to us.
Firstly, here’s a brief history lesson. Between the 12th century BC and the 7th century BC, the Phrygians lived in Anatolia. At one point, they found themselves without a king and an oracle declared that the next man to enter the city on an ox-cart would become the next king. When Gordias, a local peasant farmer drove in on his ox-cart, his son Midas was so grateful that he dedicated the cart to Sabazios, the Phrygian god. Midas tied the cart securely to a post, using a very intricate knot. It remained in place for years and years, with nobody able to loose the knot. (Spoiler alert: many years down the line, another oracle declared that any man able to untie the knot would become ruler of all Asia. A man called Alexander reasoned that it had not been specified how the knot was removed, so drew his sword and sliced through it.)
The Gordian knot has become a metaphor for a problem which can be solved only by bold action. Gradino is an anagram of ‘gordian’, denoting how we work with you to ensure a swift and efficient resolution to a problem you are facing. Our team of highly skilled individuals enables us to match exactly the right talent to the job.
As well as this, the word ‘gradino’ appears in the Italian language and translates to ‘step’, or ‘foothold’. When you work with Gradino, you are helping your business to take the next step forward.
